Wow!
I thought the trailer was cool. Though it probably would've been a lot better if they actually showed more gameplay of the revealed characters, and not just their CEs. Well, I guess this was their way of "wettin' our appetites" and gettin' us hyped up for their upcomin' panel at Gamescon.
I knew without a doubt Voldo, Tira and Hilde were goin' to make it in this iteration; one's too iconic not to be in, one plays a major role in this iteration's main characters' [the Alexandria family] stories, and one has close ties to one of the first main characters. But even though seein' those three didn't surprise me [though I'm very VERY glad to actually see them, Tira especially], my mind was blown when I saw Maxi in that trailer because I thought FOR SURE Maxi was goin' to be replaced this time around [I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who thought this]...Well, I officially dub Maxi the "Kenny" of this series. He seems to die in every iteration, and yet, never misses an appearance in one...
I'm also surprised to see Hilde retainin' her original weapons and fightin' style. After Tago-san singled her and Algol out to be the cause of the unbalance in SCIV in that ATP interview, I thought they were goin' to scrap it and give her a whole new style. Hopefully this time around, she'll be bad enough to actually have to use more than 4-6 moves to win.
Those who are worried about them still lookin' young, I'm pretty sure their models are still in development. Right now, since the game's still early in development itself, they're probably tryin' to get the characters' base models and moves in, while addin' more detail to them as they go. Perfect example:
Here's Pyrrah from the first SCV trailer:
[Pretty much a CaS design]
Here she is a month or so later in the EGM magazine photo:
[Detailed enough to be a clone of Cass or Sophie]
And here she is in a more recent photo:
[Her own character model]
They're all still subject to change at this point.
