SCV Story Speculation/Discussion

I changed the title of the thread so it'd be easily accessible and to keep people from making thread after thread about different parts of the storyline.

Also merged a couple threads with this one because there were, indeed, thread after thread about different parts of the story. Trying to keep these forums organized and all that. :3 Thanks.

My first reaction to this was "Where did THAT come from?!".

Don't worry, buddy. There's a big chance of him showing up in SC V. Rock has grown tired of carrying that big-ass axe so after 17 years Bangoo might just pick it up. Also, Namco Rules. Look elsewhere in this site for details.
 
It'll be nice to have Rock's son replacing him. He will brobably have moves both Rock and Astaroth ,not the same moves but similar ones.

Asta yet taked take his big muscle dude role
Was yet dropped one time (SC2)
He's low tier
Namco never loved him so much
He's not a gothic loli for wierdos
He have a grow up (around 30 years) son that all expect to replace him

I hope Bangoo end up being a decent tier faster and more agile (but still savage powerfull) version of Rock full of moves and with the SC4 ground/crouch throws game of his father,the theory was cool

I find it hard to believe that they'd just kill off Sophita like that. And Jun is coming back in the latest Tekken, so don't get too worried :p.

If it is true, though, and she was killed by a malfested... Then maybe Raphael can be semi-confirmed :D

Sorry, not very sensitive, but Raphael (along with Yoshimitsu) has been my main since Soul Calibur 2 (when I started playing) and I have yet to hear any news on if he's returning. If he does come back, I hope they make him better. I still played as him in 4, but he wasn't anywhere near as good as in 2&3.

And still awaiting news on the cyborg ninja king XD

I know I have been saying this quite a lot, but seriously Sophi will be Nighty, I don't see any other character taking on that position
 
why does being possessed by the sword suddenly = being nightmare?

throughout the story cervantes, siegfried, tira, ivy, voldo, astaroth...they've all been "possessed" in some way of another by the sword...yet none of the are or even were nightmare.

sophitia is dead. she maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay come back as a boss character (unlikely) but if she does it will be as...

SOPHITIA THE BOSS CHARACTER/EVIL SOPHITIA/DARK SOPHITIA...not nightmare.

krit, i think the assumption comes from the "goodbye mother" part of the teaser. it is a stretch, sure.

my main conundrum is which of her kids is good and which is evil. at first i thought the teaser was hinting at patroclus killing sophitia and then pyrrha avenging her. the more i hear of the old story, though, the more i am starting to lean on pyrrha being the evil one and patroclus being bent on justice.

oh well i'm maining him and becoming an unstoppable lag monster on PSN on day one either way.
 
I said this on NeoGAF, but the only previous cast member taking the role of Nightmare that would make sense is Hilde since she resembles a knight. Plenty of stuff can happen in 17 years to justify her becoming corrupted, especially with the pressures of the crown.

I have to refute that point with one of my own lobo:

Tira, Ivy, Voldo and Astaroth were never possessed by SE, but by NM. Cervantes died before he was ever removed from the sword's possession. Sieg is the only one who has gotten out of SE's possession, and NM popped up.

I figure I should make a post which details both sides of the argument because this gets brought up SO MUCH right now. I'm not adding or taking credibility from either side. They both have their points.

Main reasons this theory could be true - Main ways this theory could be false.

Nightmare as he is now dies in Siegfried's SC4 ending, which is cannon. Daishi has said that NM will be returning.

Siegfried's ending isn't necessarily cannon. After all, Siegfried does kind of kill himself in it, as well.

Nightmare was created as an alter ego to Sieg once he was removed from the possession of the sword. If Sophitia got a hold of the sword, she may have had a similar alter ego pop out when she was no longer possessed.

Cervantes has had a hold of the sword as well. Sophitia is already confirmed dead.

Soul Edge is a short sword now. Sophitia is a short sword user.

So are Pat and Pyrrha, Pyrrha was kidnapped as a child by a possessed Tira, and almost every image we've seen of Pat has been through the eyes of Soul edge. Both are likely candidates for an SE weilder.
