Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

What if maybe they don't put Cassandra next and put some other vet?

To keep us guessing.

I know Cass will show up eventually but maybe this could become true. Deferring this Season as the Waifu season could have made Project Soul pick somebody else (male) or somebody not Cass.

Possibility.
As I said in the past - Possibility for that is basically none
But if for whatever reasons they would make such a move I would install this game just to uninstall it again lol

Don't worry, Thiccsandra is coming SOON. Project Soul won't wanna lose momentum by delaying her from thirsty fans any longer, imo.

This would be ok with me.
If the character in question was Setsuka. Or Hilde.
99.9% sure "Snow" is Setsuka, but does "Yell" really stand for Hilde, and how long are we gonna have to wait to find out? sigh

I want to know how much details they put on certain areas. Remember kids...

Yeah, that's the detail we ought to be concerned about. Because who cares if Cassandra's style is faithfully replicated and adapted for her first appearance in over a decade, or if her moveset is balanced and tournament-serviceable, or if she brings something unique to the gameplay, or what content assets she comes with. Just so long as she has enough thigh jiggle to inspire history's saddest and nerdiest strokefest...

Wow, dude. Can't you have a little fun? The game is a fantasy, it's meant to be appealing in every way. I mean, SC has always been like this and there's nothing wrong with that.

This is getting really, really tiresome.

No one's worried, just look at Sophitia. Kappa
But honestly I think we'd be happiest if she played well and looked good of course.

I definitely want them to focus on her look, Amy looks absolutely fantastic in this game so I expect similar for Cassandra. Sadly we can't speculate or worry about her moveset yet since we haven't even seen a preview yet. I remember being mind broken seeing Amy filled with dread about her moveset.
It definitely wasn't as bad as I thought it may be.

I hope Cassandra doesn't have a grind gimmick like some of the other characters have, I really dislike being restricted like that. IMO Zasalamel is the only character that did it right with his curses.
I still will play Amy but I loathe this type of mechanic so much. It just feels like it kind takes away choices by actively encouraging me to do things until I've met an objective. I don't mind the different play styles and such since its the point, but the grind thing isn't very fun to me.
Its like repeating a mission constantly, in a fighting game where you're fighting constantly it just feels like it becomes more irritating rather than instantly getting into the play and being ready, you never start off "ready".

It was only a harmless joke about Cassandra’s ass dude. No need for you to act so serious and confrontational about it.

I’m with Rusted blade on this as the annoyance goes both ways.
There’s nothing wrong with messing around at all, I also don’t frequent these forums.
but this Sex/waifu banter is here every time Cassandra is mentioned so it gets tiresome having to filter through to find any relevant or at least decent information.

I know we’re frustrated and starved of new Info but filtering though waifu jokes is jarring for some of us.

On another note... Being starved for so long I actually came across Sectus’ video of a SCV mod.
It’s fascinating to see the polished changes from SC4 Cass and I really don’t mind this version.
Would it be something to expect for SC6

EDIT: found this too action starts at 8:16
I wonder what sort of sub mechanic they could practically add that wouldn’t make her OP.

Speaking of faithfully replicating her style, hopefully they keep her idle "bouncing" stance.
X's made it through ok, but poor Raph's didn't.
And it was his greatest nerf.
This! She needs to bounce
Also I wondered for so long why they removed Raphael's dancing - it looked amazing and added so much to his character. Now he just stands there like a log and wonders why he cant be top tier

I guess we just have very different priorities as to what makes a Soulcalibur game fun.

This is getting really, really tiresome.
Look, if you raise something as a personal priority on a public forum for a game, you need to be be prepared for the possibility that others might find your ideas silly or outright dumb. That happens on this particular forum virtually every day and 99% of the time, we either respond with a counter-argument or just ignore it because we haven't the time or inclination to have a deeper conversation about the topic. But somehow, every time someone raises a topic that goes remotely near an incel softspot, we all have to hear about how no one should ever have to face having their feather's ruffled over being a grown-ass man publicly describing their affection for virtual side-boob. Sorry dude, but freedom of expression is a two-way street: you should feel free to be able to express these perspectives if these features are truly important to you (and for the record, I've put my ass on the line to protect those kinds of freedoms throughout my life), but you don't get to be insulated from people telling you why they think your priorities are off--or just outright weird or embarrassing.

And honestly, the rest of us actually pull our punches on this topic quite a lot here, because we know that there are some people so sensitive to criticism of virtual doll love, that any response that isn't 100% supportive invariably leads to a thing, with the virtual certainty of an MRA minimob forming to defend the validity of character fetishism, and how anyone who celebrates it publicly should be utterly free from hearing anything but agreement from like-minded souls and implied sound of feverish fapping. And of course, there's the inevitable claim that only an "SJW" would ever say anything critical about the topic to begin with. Look dude, if you want to reserve the right publicly raise the importance that you put upon how jiggly a game character's thigh is, that's your call--but if you feel the need to inject that topic into a community discussion on an open forum, the rest of us similarly reserve the right to do the online equivalent of rolling our eyes before going back to talking about shit that actually matters to most adult, hardcore fans of the games.

I totally agree. Her bounce posture is part of the tough-as-nails vibe, and the notion that she's just waiting for the earliest opportunity to slam her shield into her opponents teeth. Her aggression and visual eagerness for the fight are a big part of what sells her style as distinct from Sophitia's. She's grounded--she's no some floaty, fairy-like character meant to look like she's dancing when she fights: she's a scrapper, looking to make your first mistake all the opening she needs.

Wow, dude. You got real issues here. As I said, this game is fantasy and there are far worse things than sex appeal. I'll never understand the double standard at play, where a game can feature blood and gore and no one bats an eye, but having sex appeal and suddenly people like you lose your minds.

It's almost like the majority of people who play these games are male, and that the majority of men are straight. Not almost, but exactly. Project Soul caters to their audience and treats those who don't like it as the unpleaseable vocal minority that they are. The so-called "gaming journalists" wanted so, so badly to get the game to bow to them and censor themselves, but they just can't.

Also, I'm not sure if you knew this, but fighting games are kind of a niche genre. They're made to be visually appealing in every way because they need to make the game as enticing as possible. And as said, nothing wrong with sexiness. I mean, would you rather than women look like this:

In all honesty, I don't get what you're problem is and why you're inflicting your issues on Soulcalibur of all games, a series that always took titillation in stride and was never for kids or feminists or whatever. Oh, and get this: women actually like sexiness. Just look at cosplay, or the internet, or anywhere. Not everyone is sex-negative.

And also, it was meant to be lighthearted fun, but of course YOU just have to get butthurt over it.

Good day.

Oh geez, don’t remind me of The Last Jedi with Holdo’s ridiculous haircut.
