Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Berseria has the worst combat from any Tales of. The story was very good.
Thinking about it, yes, Vesperia is the game with the most polishes combat system. The one i Graces F also requieres a lot of technical imputs to portray the combo system.
Those two are the most enjoyable if you like fighting games (even if Graces F story sucks).

Eh, agree to disagree. There's more to a combat system than the combo system, and even if the combo system was all there is to it, the CC resource system in Graces F still completely limits it in that regard. A-arte trees are also really awful with regard to limiting combat options and the fact you can only map 4 B artes is pretty awful too. The dodge system is really badly implemented compared to Berseria and status ailments are ass to deal with. It's also balanced like ass on higher difficulties, and the title/dualizing system is way too convoluted, and that's a bad thing as you need to make progress with those two systems to make any kind of difference to your pathetic CC pool. Also I fail to see how Graces F requires "technical inputs", not really sure what you mean by that? It's not any more complicated to pull off a combo than it is in Berseria (would argue Berseria is actually more complex in this regard).

Anyway don't wanna go off topic for this thread so if you wanna reply or anything just PM me. I have a strong hatred for Tales of Graces F so I get carried away lol.

So if we don't get any additional content for creation mode for playing the game I will be quite disappointed. I'm hoping what is there is just what we have when we first start...otherwise I have no idea what they are counting as 370 creation pieces.

Although perhaps no one has gotten to the way to unlock extra equipment. It could be you only get drops from bosses or have to find a shop to purchase new items in.

I'm sure there will be plenty of unlockables

UGH why cant i play it now im so fidgety

SCVI has Soul Points or SP to unlock content in the game.

So it says weapons but nothing about equipment. If you look at the menu for creation in any of the many videos that have been released recently you do have to pay SP to unlock equipment but the equipment doesn't seem to get unlocked as it's already in the selection list. If anything this does less to assuage my concerns. That said however this could just be a matter of misunderstood wording.

I also find it interesting that they would bother to call a shop a general shop because that does imply other types of shops. Otherwise they could have just said shop. Perhaps there is far less to worry about after all.

If you are fidgety now, just wait until after this weekend, when it's no longer available after you have played for hours. ;)

Guys, I think we may be getting a new female character. A barbarian/shaman looking one. I was going thru the CAS videos on YouTube and noticed the armor pieces next to Mina’s. They seem very detailed to be regular CAS. I could be wrong since the Valkyrie set is detailed. But still, who knows. It just caught my attention.

Hrrnnn! I have been stanning for that female barbarian for some time now. I think we might finally get that shield+spear user that people have been wanting, or at least something similar. This could be on October 4 via the Bamco Brazil tweet, and may also be related to Okubo's dancing partner hint for Raphael.

Having said that, it could be possible that said character was made but then cut for whatever reason, possibly ugly or bad gameplay. Or they just made the design for her so they could make the CaS parts.

If it helps any, in SC III and IV you did unlock things to buy in the extra modes. For example, there was a special set that you had to beat CoS and then buy it off the shopkeepers .

I noticed this too, but it doesn’t seem to follow the pattern of main-character equipment. If you take a closer look at the order in which equipment is placed in the menus you’ll see that character pieces are at the very end of every section, in the same order as styles are listed in the style selection (Mina, Taki, Sophitia, Ivy, Talim, etc). If this truly was a new character, his/her equipment would be at the end next to Grøh’s and Azwel’s.

My thinking was that you unlock more things to spend Soul Points on as you progress in LoS. The armor shop in SC3 worked the same way. There'd be a certain amount of things available for purchase when you started, and then more would unlock later down the line.
