Been losing a lot lately. Do I have to learn every character's block string to win?
I'd caption it "Lame." Now can you take a break from celebrating how you turned the world's premier weapons-based fighter into a anime magic dueler just long enough to give me back my favourite nuts and bolts sword fighter, Amy, already? Oh, you turned even the version of her that comes before Viola into a spellcaster? Greeaaat...
That's a bit of an overreaction. They almost certainly have a social media team who does this stuff for them. Amy's coming soon. Like the update is out, so Amy likely isn't far off.I'd caption it "Lame." Every sign points to her being released on the 26th. Project Soul never denied the release date (despite doing so in the past to an untrue leak from a big, trustworthy source), they love announcing the date and then releasing DLC shortly after a big SC event (which is five days beforehand), and the recent update. That's a bit of an overreaction. I won't lie, I'm expecting 26th, but we can't get too hyped. It still takes a long time to create a character. If this has all somehow been a series insane coincidences, and the event on the 21st ends with another SOON, I will officially lose all respect for them.
Not only would it mean they refused to address a phony leak, but the date will likely be April 19th (showing that they have a clear schedule planned out, but refuse to just come out and say it).
I will be furious, not because of them taking a while to develop a character, but because they never came out and denied the MS leak.I won't lie, I'm expecting 26th, but we can't get too hyped. It was actually more of a dig at their apparent need to turn everyone into a whirling dervish of magical effects than a legitimate complaint concerning the timing of Amy's release. I actually don't let myself get too nonplussed about release dates generally--even for Amy, my returning main. And in this particular instance, they are actually ahead of where I would have expected them to be a couple of months back, even if Amy drops three weeks from now instead of one. So that comment was just set-up/context for mocking how enthusiastic PS is about the fact that they are turning everyone into wizards..That's a bit of an overreaction. As much as it's different, a lot of the magic is fair enough in my opinion, only really Grøh, mitsu and maxi really big me in any way. Most other characters are explained fairly well, like Sophie and Talim. Fir Azwel soul edge does some wack shit so that's something. It was actually more of a dig at their apparent need to turn everyone into a whirling dervish of magical effects than a legitimate complaint concerning the timing of Amy's release. Actually, the only gripe I have about the timing of things here is that the dearth of pre-release content regarding Amy makes it hard to know, even in broadstrokes, how faithfully she has been rendered this time around. She has at least two new mechanics that they have fixated upon (and yet not really explained) in discussion and the few scant materials released so far, and both of them look like the potentially stop the flow of battle for effects. Between RE's, CE's, and SC blowback, I already feel like there's enough that pauses/interrupts the continuity of a fight in this game and one of my favourite things about Amy was sitting in the "you should stay in motion as much possible in order to add up the damage and keep her viable, but the moveset accommodates that" groove. If that's been changed--and is suspect, knowing this game, that it has at least a little--it would be nice to know, regardless of when she drops. Other than that, I'd just as soon PS takes as much time as they feel is necessary to get her right.

Regarding the development time, I really respect that. I'm happy to wait as long as we don't get some rushed and janky characters. Plus this is the first time IIRC that Amy will have a supaa haipaa new moveset. I never played her, so i can't say for sure, but I'm looking forward to it.
I suppose, then again, games are getting flashier nowadays it seems. While I can say I personally enjoy the direction, I feel the pain of a main turning into a wizard. Mitsurugi's sword isn't magic and he isn't either. I would of rather had a flurry of blows as a CE than witching hour but on fire.Meh, given that our two new characters this game are a super-saiyan import and a Noctis knock-off, I don't really see the need to further magicalize the traditional characters as well. I mean, sure, give Talim some wind powers: she is a wind priestess after-all--and in this case they didn't really alter her basic moveset; they mostly just augmented/nuanced the moves a little bit. But, while it's hard to say for certain with the limited info released so far for Amy, it seems she has had a more dramatic overhaul, when she already had a very compelling niche that didn't need to be substantially overhauled in order to accommodate more magic gimmicks.
For me this is not really about whether or not the change can be explained, post-hoc, as a narrative matter. It's about fundamental changes they are making to the game itself; I think we have enough magic zipping around the screen as is--I don't see the need to re-engineer classic characters in the same direction. So, I'm really hoping that the situation is not as bad as I imagine and that some of these changes are locked behind Soul Charge so that one can, to a certain extent, decide how heavily to rely upon them. /fingers crossed/
Everyone in the game has always been anime and has always been a spellcaster, the only difference is that the spells were only included in gameplay in SC4, while previously, they were exclusive to lore and story purposes.I'd caption it "Lame." According to Xbox arrives in 26th, this information has not been confirmed by Okubo or Namco.Any word on AMY yet?
Plus they shot down a phony leak before, so it would be pretty crummy of them not to do the same with this one.According to Xbox arrives in 26th, this information has not been confirmed by Okubo or Namco.
But taking into account that she will be playable on the Weapon Master on March 21th and PC had a small update yesterday, so "soon" will be in a few days..
