Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Ohh, this sucks! people ask for stupid guests so they'll release guest chars as DLC. That's a waste of slots that could be filled by missing regular characters! Do you want to play with 2B? Go play Nier Automata and leave slots open for Hilde, Raphael, Rock or any good regular character of this game!

22 to 24. That was in February though. But that's the most recent thing they'd heard when it comes to the roster number.

Speaking of information, I got some more. People have still been wondering about it, but yes Maxi is gay, but there will be VERY vague implications to it. Significantly more vague than Kung Jin in MKX. Thank the localization team for helping with that. It was noted to pay attention to how he acts in story mode around a handful of male characters and you'll notice the subtlety at work.

It comes as no surprise after the story trailer, but can 100% confirm Lizardman will be in the game, not as DLC or anything like that, but in the game. However I cannot confirm him having a unique moveset as a playable character or just being a Sophitia clone to beat up only in the story mode at the moment.

The roster is finalized in case you were wondering. No more last minute changes. The DLC characters are decided on.

As for some potentially regretful news, it looks like Raphael fans might wind up having some stress sweat....
Any news on Hwang?

Honestly, DLC guests was probably the plan from the start. I'm willing to bet that the only thing fans might have influenced in that regard is who the DLC guest is, and even that might not be the case. If you're gonna be angry at anyone, be angry at Bamco. They're making these decisions after all.

I would add the ability to cancel RE while charging it, but only if you haven't parried any attacks yet otherwise you could abuse it to gain meter too easily. After an attack has been parried, you would no longer have the ability to cancel and then RE would carry out like we've seen so far. This could lead to interesting mind games where you can try to punish opponents who keep stepping as soon as they notice you using RE. I think it would make RE more viable in competitive play.

So, the remaining 10 characters are: Astaroth, Talim, Cervantes, Seong Mi-na, Voldo, Raphael, Lizardman, Tira , New female character, New male character? Plus Inferno in the middle? I still hope to see Rock and Setsuka

Hey my friend Vergeben! You said that the roster is finalized and the DLC characters are decided on! You know the rest of the character roster? And DLC's? And what was this about Raphael? Raphael is so unique, he deserves to be in the game! And one more thing, any hints about Setsuka?

I’m going to be annoyed if the gecko and rip-off Sophie are in but we have to buy the loli since no-longer-a-vampire might be out.

And missing styles were part of V’s issues.

Holding out for a single player challenge mode.

Again with only 2 newcomers?! boy are you guys gonna be surprised when the full roster's gonna be revealed, there's no freaking way SCVI will have only 2 newcomers (excluding guests).

It'll probably just be another pointless interview with the same questions and answers we've heard too many times already. Seriously there was nothing in the stream earlier that wasn't already in the other E3 panel as far as I could tell. Not even gonna bother watching. I'll just keep my eye on the forum in case they randomly pull a character trailer out of their ass. Watch it be Talim too after already missing the perfect chance yesterday XD that'd be hilarious.

As for the whole 'new characters' thing. Didn't SCIV only have 2 newbies, if that (not including the Bonus Characters)? It's possible to only get 2, especially with such a small roster and the team knowing we want the old cast back, though they seem determined not to give us them either so it's not THAT unlikely we could get more than 2 newbies...

I do think we need a new female to go with the new male, which is why I stand by my opinion that Groh's MOTHER should be the evil character. Would be way more interesting to see a non-sexualized evil female character who's actually a threat and we have a few evil men already. I think Tira's the only legit evil female and she's more of a lacky than a leader. Otherwise I'd really like to see the tough black chick they were talking about. I'd be interested if they ever reveal concept art for her or explain why they dropped the concept.

I would rather just Groh and leave it at that. Nothing against new characters but if this is the roster size we're getting, returnees are already in trouble without using up more precious slots on newbies. If we had, say 32-36 characters I'd be more than happy to see 2-4 newbies in there, but that's never happening.
