Siegfried Videos

Aulord: I'm glad I'm finally able to see some of your match videos, you play a very solid Sieg with few wasted moves (as I am very spammy like Monty Python).

Sophie is our hardest matchup imo, but just to add to the repetoire of knowledge, her non jf 236B is punishable but 3B I believe. I realize Ramon was spamming B+K hard, I guess going into practice mode and trying to see how you can punish that will help, maybe 6A can do the trick?

If anyone has some time, place critique my Sieg, I realize I spammed 3B far too much and I've been doing well to help use it more in moderation than as a crutch. X, Amy, and Sisters give me the hardest time at the moment (and probably Taki should I ever face one). Basically the entire female cast lol.

i didnt see a whole lot of SCH [A] which could give you SSH options.

You did use 3 alot, you should try baiting it more.

You did it at least once, but A+B costed you a round, because you went from neutral advantage to defense. With low health as well.

If you have an opponent that likes blocking SBH A+B, use SBH A+B G to put them in a SRSH mixup. It only works assuming they arent going to try to attack you during the SBH A+B.

Tame the 3, overall though, a great performance.

Jian, I only had time to watch the first match. That X got in your face and instead of working to push her out, you went for LOTS of throw attempts and a lot of 1K poking. X doesn't have too hard of a time getting in, but there was no way she should've been able to run in and 66K you all day long.

I don't think I saw a single B6 or 3A that entire match. Actually I dont think I saw 6A either. She was running in and then stepping. 3A cuts her step, 6A cuts her step and also agA.

agA is one of Sieg's strongest tools. You used it to whiff punish a couple times and I saw it once into her blocking. (after, she stepped your 3B). You should continue to agA into her if she keeps deciding to stand and block it. Kill her step right after.

B6 is also one of his fastest mids thats semi-safe. It has good range and puts you at advantage on hit. There were a lot of times where she ran in and you just stood there. B6 would've stuffed her and 3A also would've stuffed her (3A obviously takes a little more anticipation). B6 is fast enough to where you can react as soon as you see someone running in.

Also, the X player AA'd and 2A'd allllll day. Use the SBH aGI and punish him, it'll reduce him to not using AAB and 2A to interrupt you all day.

I like what I see, Jian. A very nice Sieg if I may say so. Nice 22_88 work.

A few points for your consideration, not necessarily right or wrong:
6A is far safer than 6[A] in my opinion. Going into stance always leave you open, though I suppose going for a quick SSH K always shuts them on counter hit, assuming a TC or a low move isn't coming, or you can stance roulette into SCH. Also! SSH K CH leads to a free 6A afterwards.

Never forget B6 at tip-range. That bastard is sweet for spacing.

Never forget a+kAA/A2A series. Beautiful advantage on hit, and you can mix it up high, low, with stances, or canceling into throws or whatever else tickles your fancy.

Whenever you're fighting X, always-always-always keep her 44B in the back of your mind. That stuff is lethal as hell. Always be prepared for it if you can be.

RSH is one of Siggy's greatest strengths. If you can mindgame someone well, RSH can lead to enormous pain and momentum shift. I think it's an even better stance than SSH in my opinion.

And the 3b stuff of course, but I think every Sieg is a little guilty of that. We all fall into that mindset now and again. Just keep developing and keep up the good stuff.

And as mentioned by Botsu, aga is awesome. It's a great opener, and a beastly step killer. Its range is to be feared. Plus, the advantage it grants on guard can lead to a good deal, even in close to mid-range.

All discourse is opinion and not to be taken for gospel. I am a Siegfried player as much as I am a continuing student. :P

I should have some videos up soonish. I use a great deal of stance dancing, but it's proven amazingly effective in most of the spots i've chosen to use it in. RSH becomes my most dangerous tool, almost everything that comes out of that stance is nasty as hell. Except RSH A, which sucks balls haha.

Solid play, I like that you take risks. It's really nice to see someone not so conservative (other then everyone using 3B which is a risk hahaha).

I'll edit my post and put more later, don't have too much time. Only enough time to say.

FUCK HILDEY. -_-;

Reppin SoulCal

Sorry I don't have vids of me vs someone else. I can't get the vids of me vs King Salmon up here.

Enjoy!

Man...And Hilde mainers wonder why we picked enclosed levels?

Either way, awesome Siegfried, Stryker. :B::6: is a ton more useful than I thought, I really need to use it more. My only suggestion is to use Maelstrom mixups a bit more (cancel, or use WS :Ah:). Other than that, awesome job.

What would you recommend post B6, on hit and CH? Great fights by the way.

Stryker(SIEGF)vsVlaster(NM) 1st Dominican Tour

For post B6, if you do hit them close (which is not what the move was made for, it's really a long range poke imo due to its lack of safety on block), I'd say mix it between throws and 3 if they catch on to the throw game.

Not too sure about tip-range, though. If you expect them to retaliate, or move in, you can try 3A, I suppose.

Although Stryker have good Sieg skills, his antiNM needed more work. The Anti GS game that is.

My bad, B6 is actually less safe at tip-range in terms of guard disadvantage (-9 vs. -6 up close.) Still, I think what I said above largely applies except for that.

Here is my match against El Mitsu, the most agressive Mitsu player in Dominican Republic... cause Omega only plays as Zaza he have the duty to represent the Mitsus on my country. He was ready but I was so lucky guarding the 2kB and punishing very hard, and like you know Im a "defense freak", well no more writing, here is the match:

Whoo, good god Stryker, awesome matches! You punished :2::K::B: so harshly, it's a wonder he kept using the move. Your stance mixups were deadly too, only when he guessed the right low did you ever get punished. Hilarious ring outs, too.

Ohh Thanks man... funny facts about that match:

1- My sparring partner is a Mitsu... I've fought endless matches against Mitsu and Im close to manufacturing the first vaccine against Mitsu4.

2- After the ramdon stage, El Mitsu choose the stage, and I said to him: Choose other stage, cause Im gonna ring out you very easy..." He said: "Dont worry Im hard to RO"

3- After the first win, I said: Do you wanna change the stage?

My technique is very easy, I create the moment and then I can anticipate 2kB very easy... if I cant then I try really hard to do Just Ukemi...

Heh, I noticed the just Ukemi in there, unfortunately your health was too low to continue the match after that little spat.

That's really funny about the ringouts, though. I could tell Mitsu was really good at breaking grabs, but you had a different ringout move for each successful RO.

What would you say some of your sequences are? I mean, how do you decide when to do certain variations in stances? For instance I used to do :3::B: to SCH :Ah: to SSH :A:, then a mixup between SRSH :B:, :Kh:, or :A::+::B:.
